Arrayit Diagnostics Inc. has signed a licensing agreement with Wayne State University to gain key intellectual property covering discoveries of biomarkers of ovarian cancer.
Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
The agreement with Detroit-based Wayne State grants the Houston-based diagnostic testing company exclusive worldwide rights to develop and commercialize a microarray-based diagnostic test using biomarkers developed by Wayne State researchers. The test aims to screen for early stage ovarian cancer in women who are not yet symptomatic.
Upon approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Arrayit will be able to actively market and distribute the test kit worldwide.
Arrayit Diagnostics is a subsidiary of Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Arrayit Corp.
