The University of Texas Medical Branch Institute for Human Infections and Immunity, Sealy Center for Vaccine Development, Center for Hepatitis Research, and the James W. McLaughlin Fellowship Fund, in collaboration with the British Consulate-General of Houston’s Science and Innovation Group and the UK Health Protection Agency is proud to announce a symposium centered around the theme of Controlling Emerging Infectious Diseases in the 21st Century on February 26-28, 2010 at Galveston Island Convention Center.
The symposium will include the following sessions:
- Respiratory infections: influenza
- Respiratory infections: tuberculosis and other respiratory infections
- Mosquito- and tick-borne infectious diseases
- Hepatitis C
- Microbial drug resistance
- Enteric bacterial and viral infections
- Epidemiology of infectious diseases
- BSL-4/ACDP-4 pathogens
- Poster sessions in each of the above areas
This collaborative meeting will bring together U.S. and British experts to discuss the latest developments in basic and applied infectious disease research.
